A comfortable session at their newly built home with the homebodies. Keenan & Mandy had requested for the photos to be less "poised" and that they don't usually take photos together so I thought of prompts to position them in ways that would loosen their expressions. Doing something that doesn’t quite make sense breaks the tension ;-) It was also so hilarious when I saw them get exhausted by the minute. That's when we decided to take a short break, and they pulled out their Iced Kopis to sip on - how convenient & comfortable to be indoor!

I'd like to think of this as the perfect collaboration between the people & I. From the initial conversations I've had with Brie about locations, props & outfit, to the Pastor & I working together to decide which is the best position for the signing of marriage cert. It definitely created synergy and opportunities for better photos to be taken - their reactions 🫶🏻

Still one of my favourite sets by far! Shot across 2 weeks - from a rooftop ROM, to an Italian restaurant along Tembeling Road, I was so inspired by the elements, angles & colors! Especially so with vendors I absolutely adored and greatly admired. It's the cherry on top of the cake, really 👌🏻 It was also the interactions between Wen & Dale, along with their friends that completed the whole wedding experience. True to themselves, they were just going around catching up with every single one of them, having a good time.
I remember this particular moment where Wen accidentally stained her dress in wine, and she didn't take it seriously at all. It's just a stain, and there I was quickly following them to the bathroom snapping away. I love that they're able to laugh about it!

If I could link the atmosphere to a song, it would be September by Earth, Wind & Fire where it doesn't ask for attention but still fills the room with great atmosphere. Over at Damien & Paula's, it felt like an expanded weekly family gathering which allowed for many fun photos to be taken! I loved that group photos didn't follow the structured sequence, making it more relaxed and natural for the couple, and that also became a shared moment for all where friends can just chat up with them by themselves!

Being with Kairen & Alicia felt like coming home. It's like returning to a close relative's home after a long while, a slight awkwardness yet comfort amidst it all. Like the kind where you are able to hide in one of their rooms and take a short nap, and them feeding you with lots of food. There's a sense of invitation and sentimentality, especially at Kairen's place where I was brought back to what traditional Chinese homes often felt like: the round dining table, wooden chairs, large family portraits anchoring the space with much more meaning. And Uncle & Aunty preparing a portion tauhuey, tangyuan & soonkueh for me??? Cries. So grateful for little things like these!

There were so many moments from this day that I loved. While we try to photograph as many guests as we can, we always ask our couples if there’s anyone they’d really like us to focus on. What Eunice shared made me pay closer attention to how she was with her dad and family - the little gestures and the way they are with the people they care about. I intentionally looked for and captured moments that carry those feelings that hopefully feel true to the couple. I feel like I've achieved that in this set <3
Also during their lunch, they played songs that really helped elevate the mood aka songs they & their friends like. Can you imagine the fun they were having?!
